MADAME PERIPETIE

Ive been obsessed with Madame Peripetie's surrealist compositions for a few months now, since I saw her editorial Supremetism on Coute Que Coute . Integrating art and fashion into something absurdly divine, the photographers approach is almost philosophical. Her creativity unbounded, she is often both styling and photographing, making fashion into a legitamate medium for art. These images are from her upcoming exhibition Kuriositäten-Kabinett in germany.

SET ME FREE | RYAN MCGINLEY

This year has been a rough one. Currently, Im working and going to school, both full time. Days weave themselves into tapestries of timelessness. My mind is perpetually crowded and I cannot think. Luckily though, I have Ryan Mcginley to remind me of what life is really about, and the real reasons why I'm working so hard. His images of youthful reckless abandon invoke in me the urge to run, play, laugh, live; fuck things up, not in a destructive way, but in a way that brings me closer to myself. Living an innocently hedonistic existence. His images of pure motion and human interest represent, to me, freedom.

BUFFALO '66

Buffalo '66, directed by and starring the intoxicating Vincent Gallo, has always stayed an aesthetic staple in my mind. Shot exclusively with vintage film cameras, Gallo brought to screen an atmosphere of stark oblivion that shaped my view on art at a very young age. One key item that stayed in my mind was Billy Browns iconic bright red chelsea boots that flared off the murky backdrop of Buffalo, New York's desolate winter landscape. Thankfully, after years of interrupted thought, I stumbled across these beautiful bright red calf skin chelsea's with a two inch cuban heel by Giorgio Brutini.
